Server configuration
config.yml holds what applies to every item. Individual item files override any of it.
Rarities
Add, remove or recolour freely. order controls sorting in menus and /sigil list; glow gives an enchantment shimmer.
rarities:
common:
display: "Common"
colour: "<#04ff00>"
order: 0
rare:
display: "Rare"
colour: "<#00b0ff>"
order: 2
legendary:
display: "Legendary"
colour: "<#ffbe39>"
order: 4
glow: true
An item's rarity: must match one of these keys. An item whose display carries no colour of its own inherits the rarity's, which is what keeps a rarity recolour from meaning an edit to every file that uses it.
The lore template
Tokens are replaced; an empty string is a separator that collapses when the section around it renders to nothing. That is what stops an item with no abilities from having a blank gap where they would have been.
lore-template:
- "<description>"
- ""
- "<abilities>"
- ""
- "<uses>"
- ""
- "<rarity>"
| Token | Renders |
|---|---|
<description> | the item's description lines |
<abilities> | name, description and cooldown of each ability |
<uses> | remaining and maximum charges, omitted entirely for unlimited items |
<rarity> | the rarity name in its own colour |
Any other line is passed through as MiniMessage, so a divider or a server name can sit in the template directly.
Abilities
tick-intervalticksdefault4How often
tickabilities are polled. The loop does not run at all unless some registered item actually uses that trigger.cooldown-actionbarbooleandefaulttrueShow cooldown messages on the action bar rather than in chat.
vanilla-cooldown-overlaybooleandefaulttrueAlso drive the vanilla grey cooldown sweep on the item itself.
Server-wide rules
Defaults for every item. An item that says nothing follows whatever is set here, and one that expressed an opinion keeps it.
vanilla-recipesbooleandefaultfalseAllow custom items as ingredients in ordinary vanilla recipes. Off by default: otherwise an Aether Ingot crafts into a plain iron block and its identity is gone.
anvil-renamebooleandefaultfalseAllow renaming in an anvil. Off by default so custom items cannot be disguised as something else.
anvil-combinebooleandefaulttrueAllow combining two of the same item to sum their remaining charges.
anvil-combine-costlevelsdefault5What that combine costs.
enchantingbooleandefaultfalseAllow enchanting at an enchantment table.
Turning off the built-in content
content:
builtin: true
Set it to false to keep only your own items.
Messages
Player-facing command and cooldown text lives in messages.yml, not config.yml. Every value is
MiniMessage. Keep the placeholders used by the shipped value—such as <item>, <player>,
<amount>, <count> or <time>—when translating a message. Placeholder values are inserted as
literal text and are not reparsed as MiniMessage, so a player-supplied name cannot inject styling
or click events.
/sigil reload reloads both files. Confirm a rule change with /sigil info <item> because an
explicit per-item rule wins over the server default.
